Someone once called me a Renaissance Woman. Someone else called me eclectic. Both are probably nice ways of saying 'flaky'. I'm Canadian, descended from a long line of Newfoundlanders, and incredibly over-educated (B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D.). I have a real job now. Which is neither as interesting as being a student nor as much fun as Buffyverse fic (I haven't actually written all that much, but you can find it all in my memories). I founded a community choir (Atlantic Voices), my favourite city is Paris, my heart lives still in Newfoundland even though the rest of me is in Peterborough, and I have red hair and two red dogs.
This is Linus. He was my faithful companion for more than thirteen years. I lost him very suddenly to cancer (hemangiosarcoma, also known as the silent cancer) in the spring of 2006. I still miss him, every single day. There will always be a Linus-shaped hole in my heart.
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan." Irving Townsend
This is Bella, my Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. She arrived in my life on December 24, 2007 (Merry Christmas to me!) at the age of nine months. Bella has her own LiveJournal: spiceofbroadway.
